Project Angelus

Promoting the traditional Christian practice of praying The Angelus three times daily.

Our Mission

Project Angelus exists to revive and promote the age-old Christian practice of prayer known as The Angelus — a pause for devotion three times a day: morning, noon, and evening. At its heart, the Angelus is a meditation on the mystery of the Incarnation — the Word made flesh. Through thoughtfully designed modern tools, we seek to help individuals and families weave these sacred reflections into the fabric of their daily lives.

What We're Building

We're building simple apps that ring the Angelus — real bell recordings from churches and monasteries around the world — at 6am, 12pm, and 6pm. It's a sacred interruption, grounded in centuries of Christian tradition. These are not beeps or reminders, but the same kind of tones that once echoed across valleys and fields, down village lanes and through city piazzas — calling people to pause and pray.

Users can choose the bell that speaks to them. And if they want, the words of the Angelus will appear, quiet and ready, just as it once lived in memory and voice.

The Chrome Extension is now live and available on the Chrome Web Store. We’re actively working on versions for Firefox, Safari, iOS, and Android to bring the Angelus to more people on more platforms.
